A Zimbabwean, Letshani first arrived in Europe, specifically the UK, on an education scholarship. Seeing the positive impact this education opportunity had on her life and those of other scholarship recipients, Letshani knew she wanted to pay it forward by working in the fields of sustainability and development. Since 2008, she’s worked with various leading organizations in the field of sustainability including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) and B Corporation/B Lab, where she learnt a lot about how entrepreneurship can be used as a force for good.
Since her internship with UNESCO-UNEVOC, she’s always had a wish to work in life-skills education where entrepreneurship is key—so she’s grateful to find herself at Aflatoun International focusing on growing the Aflatoun life-skills education programmes in Anglophone Africa. Letshani has a Masters degree in Political Science (International Relations and Transnational Governance) from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and a Bachelor in International Politics and History from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany.
