Pomoć Deci is one of the founding partners of Aflatoun International, having joined in the network in November 2005. The organisation is currently testing and adapting the approaches of our ‘Aflatot’ programme in Serbia, Slovakia and Hungary with other local partners.
Pomoć deci (Children and Youth Support Organisation) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation established in Serbia in 2004. The organisation aims to create an environment of hope and respect that enables children and young people to reach their full potential and provides children, young people, parents and communities with practical tools for positive change.
The organisation provides free legal and technical assistance to help vulnerable children and their families understand their rights. Through quality education, they also support the integration and inclusion of marginalised children and young people and inspire active participation of children and young people in their communities and life.
Pomoć deci joined the Aflatoun Network at very first Aflatoun meeting in November 2005. Since then, the organisation has actively participated in the development of the Aflatoun Movement through membership on the Aflatoun International Board, participation in the development and piloting of Aflatoun, Aflateen and Aflatot programmes and the development of the Peace-Building Manual. The organisation has also provided Master Trainers for all three programmes throughout the Balkan region and Europe.
Since 2017, Pomoć deci has adapted and tested the approach of the ‘Aflatot‘ Programme in teacher trainings and preschool strategic partnerships in Serbia, Slovakia and Hungary together with Aflatoun International and other local partners. This is part of an Erasmus+ funded project on early childhood education that enables partners to develop, test and exchange experience in using social and financial education methodologies for young children.
