  • How can I register for the conference?

    Thank you for your interest in attending the Global Social and Financial Skills Conference 2019. You can register for the conference on our official registration site here.

  • Who will be at the conference?

    Aflatoun International is inviting our entire network of 275 partners, stakeholders, government officials, civil society and private sector leaders and advocates of 21st century skills and financial literacy globally.

  • Will there be a dress code?

    Though not mandatory, we recommend that attendees are dressed in business casual attire. Be advised that Amsterdam has cool to moderate temperatures with the chance of rain during the autumn season. Please come prepared with a spare raincoat and umbrella for the outdoor segment of this event.

  • How much does it cost to attend?

    The current rates for the conference are split into three packages (excluding travel and accommodation).

    • Three-day registration Conference Package: 550 Euros (per person)
    • Aflatoun Network Conference Package: 275 Euros (per person)
    • One-day registration conference package: 199 Euros (per person)

  • Are there any discounts available?

    We are only providing discounts for members of the Aflatoun Network. These members will receive 50% discount on the conference fee.

  • What is included in the registration fee?

    When you register for a Three-day or One-day Conference Package, you are invited to fascinating plenaries and key notes, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, in addition to a Canal Boat Ride. You will be provided with food and beverages during the entire duration of the conference. You will also receive complimentary Aflatoun merchandise when you attend.

  • Will you provide meals during the conference?

    Yes, we will provide food and beverages throughout the conference. For questions on the meals and beverages provided, please contact us.

  • Do you cover additional costs at the conference?

    No. Any personal costs that are incurred during the duration of the conference will not be covered by Aflatoun International. This pertains to items bought on-site at the venue, within your hotel, or throughout your travels within the city.

  • How do I book travel and accommodation?

    Our partner THL Travel will assist you in arranging your conference package, flights, transfers and accommodation. We would like attendees visiting us from abroad to have a seamless experience to give your assurance during your travels and your stay in Amsterdam.   • I am having trouble registering on the site – what should I do?

  • I would like more information on the venue. Where can I find that?

    The Global Social and Financial Skills Conference will be taking place at the Postillion Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Visit our Venue page to find out more information on the chosen venue.

  • I prefer to book my own travel and hotel. Can I do that?

    Yes, it is possible. You are welcome to plan your travels to your benefit. It is not mandatory to arrange your travel and hotel through our partner THL Travel.

  • When should I arrive?

    It is recommended that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of the conference, 30 October 2019.

  • Will I need a visa?

    If you come to the Netherlands holding a passport of an EU/EEA country, you do not need a visa to travel to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Switzerland is not an EU/EEA member state. But a Swiss citizen has the same residence rights as an EU/EEA citizen. Also, a citizen of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City is not an EU/EEA citizen.

  • Will you help me obtain a visa?

    THL Travel will assist all attendees who are in need of a travel visa. Please contact our representatives at THL Travel.

  • Will I need to obtain travel insurance?

    Obtaining travel insurance is not mandatory, however, it may be helpful in ensuring that you have a care-free trip. Please contact our representatives at THL Travel for more information.

  • Will the programming be available in multiple languages?

    While all the sessions of the Global Social and Financial Skills Conference will be in English, we understand that our conference needs to be inclusive for our international attendees. We are working to ensure that we obtain translators in the following languages: Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian. More information will be available in the coming weeks. In addition, our materials and publications will be offered in Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian on-site at the venue.

  • Can I volunteer for the conference?

    Thank you for your interest! We are currently looking for student volunteers to assist us in ensuring that our attendees have an optimal experience. This conference also provides a great opportunity for students to meet and network with finance experts, education professionals and civil society actors in the Aflatoun network.

  • Can I speak at the conference?

    While we are thankful for your interest, our conference agenda is currently at full capacity. Therefore, we are not accepting additional requests for speakers.

  • Can I opt out of any of the sessions or entertainment at the conference?

    While we encourage you to take full advantage of your conference package and participate in all of the activities/sessions during and after the conference, it is not mandatory to attend all and you may opt out of any if you choose to.
