It is our pleasure to invite you to The 6th Aflatoun International Conference which will be held on 30, 31 October and 1 November 2019. 

About

This event marks the mid-campaign of Aflatoun Network’s efforts to reach 20 million children by 2020. This major event will bring together stakeholders and partners from around the world to connect, share experiences and exchange ideas to take the Child Social Financial Education movement further. Over the course of the three days the following topics will be covered:

  • Social and Financial Education addressing key issues in children and youth in different development sectors (e.g. Girls empowerment, Protection, Health, Agriculture)
  • Showcasing scale and cost effective models
  • Promote learning sharing of/for local solutions through a global network of partners
  • Innovative approaches to promote Social and Financial Education at scale

In line with the previous International Conferences, the event is designed for participants to share, learn, inspire and be inspired. It is also is an opportunity to celebrate the network’s successes together.

Day One | Wednesday 30 October (09.00 – 17.00) – Social & Financial Skills: Missing Link across Development Sectors

  • Session 5 – Scientific Evidence: Importance of Social & Financial Skills (Presentation Academic Research)
  • Session 6 – Social, Financial & Entrepreneurial Education - Examples from the Global Network (Entrepreneurship/Employability, Peace Building, Quality & Relevant Education, Protection, Inclusion)

  • Session 2 – International Strategic Partnerships for Scale - Panel (Government, Public-Private Partnerships, Donor Community, Research)
  • Session 3 – Breakout sessions on different Strategic Partnerships: - National Partnerships for Education - Public-Private Partnerships for Youth Employability - National CSO Networks (Cooperatives, Faith-Based Networks, etc) - Research collaborations – Building the Evidence
